7 Day Caribou Hunt | Raft Hunt | Tok, AK
Since 1984 our guest hunters have received 65 awards for first, second or third place trophies in the annual (APHA) Alaska Professional Hunters Association/Safari Club International Big Three statewide competition. This is the highest number of awards per number of guests of all guiding outfits in Alaska. We’ve taken top 3 ranked Grizzly, Black Bear, Dall Ram,Caribou, Moose, Wolf and Sitka Blacktail Deer. 32 of these outstanding animals were caribou, 7 were for Grizzlies and 4 were for wolves. The lodge is located in an ideal hunting area. Most animals are taken within one mile or less from the lodge.
We have been conducting guided hunts from the same location since 1972. Based in a comfortable 2-story lodge with solar power and sauna we have vacancies for Aug.18-29, Aug. 29-Sept.09, and Sept. 9-21, 2021 and 2022). We could modify those dates. Grizzly, Caribou and Wolf are all open for the entire time of each booking and no drawing permits are required. (Wolverine opens Sept.1) We prefer 2 or 3 guests per booking.
Jake is licensed by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game to resell tags for Caribou, Wolverine, and Wolves. Jake will provide your tag at cost, there is no markup involved!

Cancellation Policy: No cancellations
Wound Policy: Wounded animals are considered harvested, every effort will be made to recover the animal. Since 1972 we have recovered every animal shot, except for 2 wolves.
Tag Policy: You'll need to pre-register for the Grizzly tag, Jake will ensure you get one! Tags for Caribou, Wolverine, and Wolves can be bought on site.
Terrain Details
The Arctic base camp is located at 1380 feet elevation in a mountain valley 118 miles by gps, north of Kotzebue - or 153 miles above the ARCTIC CIRCLE. We own, and are providing access, to the most remote Private Property in the United States. This camp includes the main lodge - a 2-story, 4 bedroom building with large picture windows, a smaller cabin with private sleeping rooms and a third building houses a workshop and sauna. This 80 acre homestead is the only privately held land in this part of the BROOKS RANGE and is reportedly the most remote private land in the U.S. Dall Sheep, Barren Ground Caribou, Moose, Grizzly, Wolves and Wolverine are sometimes seen and hunted the same day. Musk Oxen are frequently seen. Depending on game movements, tent camps are sometimes set up on several other sites. Light aircraft is the only means of access. The lodge has solar powered lighting with receptacles to recharge batteries. Most hunting is out of the lodge or a tent on foot - 3 to 6 miles of moderate to difficult walking may be required, but most game is taken within a mile of the lodge.

How to travel here: The success of your hunt is dependent on many things, weather is a major factor, time spent reading in camp wondering when the weather will improve will not put meat on the table. Persistence and patience are your best attributes while hunting Caribou and Grizzlies. Never second guess your guide, he knows the patterns, country and how to get you back to camp safely each night.
